10 months on the 14th!

Wow, time is just racing by! Our little Addie is just grow'n like a weed and we've loved every minute of it! This summer has been a lot of fun watching Addie learn. She currently has two teeth on the bottom. They came in a few months ago and the whole runny nose and slobber only lasted two or three day, not a big deal! She was a bit fussy for the rest of the week and then finally the first one broke through! Then about a week later tooth #2 came through but there was no fussing or runny nose or anything is just came up. I remember thinking, if only all of them could be this easy this whole teething thing is going to be a breeze! Well ,that all changed about a month later when little Addie had a constant running nose, a little cough, and just felt crummy for about 4 weeks and alas there was never a new tooth. Everyone said it was teething but maybe she had some allergies or a cold who knows. I'm getting a bit worried now that it's been a few months with no new teeth. I afraid their all going to come in at once.

Addie is a great little walker when she holds on to our fingers but she hates being on her belly, maybe she just going to skip the whole crawling thing. I think she has become content with the mobility she has while on her back. She can go around and around or from side to side to maneuver enough to get what she wants. I guess until she is a little more motivated, or just not as easily distracted by something she can reach, we'll just keep working with her and walking her around. Addie is still in the feet grabbing mode and I love it! She is amazing with those feet of hers, they are just like another pair of hands. And if she ever feels something with those toes, its immediately kick, kick, kick!

Here are a few pictures from the past few months.

6 months: When she was not quite able to roll on to her back so belly time was a little easier.

She had just figured out toe grabbing!

7 months: Toe grabbing became toe chewing.
Big stretch, so cute!
And Addie's first time at the pool!

8 months: Addie has always liked sleeping on her side with her feet on the side of the crib.

I'll have to add more later! Hopefully it won't be so long between blogs!

New things every day!

This past week Addie has found her thumb! She doesn’t really know how to suck it yet but she loves to chew on it. Sometimes her little fingers get caught in her nose, it’s so funny! She is getting really coordinated with her hands. She is reaching for the toys on her little floor gym, actually, tonight she was kicking her legs up at the toys as well as grabbing at them with her hands. I can’t believe how fast she is learning. She has also been really fun with the baby coos, well if gurgles, bubbles, and drool count as cooing. For now it’s her way of talking and we love to play along!
So Sunday was my first Mother’s Day. We spent most of the time down in Ogden with our Mother’s but came home early in the evening on Sunday. As I was feeding her I thought she might be willing to let me holder as she fell asleep. She was so tired but as soon as the burping was done she began searching the room for Dad. Once she locked on to him you could read her mind…”Dad why aren’t you holding me now?!?!” It was the most adorable face ever! She had her pouty bottom lip out, her eyes looked so tired, and her head perched on her neck roll. She just stared at him for 15 minutes or so until I finally gave in. As soon as, he had her settled in his arms she was out. I wanted to be sad for myself, but it was just too cute to see her saddest tired face gazing over at Dad. Luckily, last night she let me do the rocking to sleep and I loved it!

Newborn Addie

So, I've been pretty lame about posting pictures so here are a few from her first days at home! She was so small (she has now doubled her birth weight and is 3 inches longer)

This one is around 5 weeks old. Still a little to small for the Bumbo!

Happy Birthday Adalynn!

Today our little Adalynn turns 3 months old! I can't believe how fast the time has gone by. She has grown so much from the day she was born and we have loved every minute of it! The past few weeks Addie has started smiling and has even laughed with us a few times!!! The positive response is just wonderful!

At 3 months old, Addie just loves munch'n on her hands! I left her little paws covered for the first 8-9 weeks of life so she wouldn't scratch her face, maybe a little excessive but that's just me, plus we had a few bad trial runs when she was younger. But as soon as I made the decision that we were done covering her hands she has had no major scratches!!! And she's starting to try and push her binky back in when it falls out. One of Tyler's favorite things is when he holds her in the evening she loves to play with his arm hairs. It's just adorable!

Another great thing to note is that 5 of the past 7 nights Addie has slept for a good 6 hour stretch! This has been extremely nice for Mom and Dad. Typically, our night routine has been: Addie starts to grunt and gnaw on her little hands; Mom nudges Dad and asks him to go make a bottle; Mom changes Addie's diaper; Dad returns with the bottle; and Mom feeds Addie and puts her back to sleep. Can I just say, that I love that Tyler is so involved with every aspect of raising Addie. The middle of the night help is just wonderful! And seeing the great connection the Tyler and Addie share brings so much joy to our family. In fact, Addie requires her special "Daddy Daughter" time in the evenings. If Dad's not holding her when she wants him you're going to hear about it! I think both Grandmas' have been snubbed for Daddy time. Sorry Grandma's and don't worry I get it to sometimes!

This week I started working again... and no, I didn't cry. Maybe because I have had to leave Addie with babysitters a few times when my work needed some help while I was on leave. It's been slow getting back into work mode first off because I am more tired due to the lack of nap times and secondly, it just doesn't seem to be as important as it used to. I mostly look forward to going home and playing with Addie. My work has been great about being flexible with my hours. In fact, they got me a laptop so I can do some work from home! I plan on taking Fridays off and leaving early on Wednesdays to be with Addie more, then I'll just do some work from home to get all my hours in. During the day Addie plays at the babysitters, one of our good friends is a stay-at-home Mom, she has a great little boy who's about 20 months old. Both Tyler and I are very happy and grateful that we were able to find such a great babysitter!

A Tribute to our Family in China!

I am sitting here at my parents house today and going through some old pictures and found this great video of my brother-in-law, Mike, and nephew, Trenton. It appears to be and talent night at their ward in Wahiawa, HI. They are now living in China and we miss them soooooo much! I can't wait for them to come visit this summer. Hope you guys don't mind me posting your video but Trent is just so cute on his "guitar" and with Mike's impressive vocals I just couldn't resist! We love you!

Welcome Adalynn Shae

Our little baby girl came into the world on January 14, 2010. It was a long labor and delivery but was all worth it! She's just beautiful and we love her so much! Her birth weight was 6 lbs. 9 oz. and she's 20 inches long. Her official due date was January 27th but I guess she just couldn't wait to meet us, or she was tired of being squished in my belly! I really can't complain about the early delivery, she was hard enough to push out as it was. Tyler has been a wonderful father so far, he gets up at night to get me burp clothes and to changes diapers. It's great to have a husband that's so hands on. On the subject of being hands on... Our OB actually let Tyler deliver little Addie! Once she started crowning they prep'd him to catch her as she came out. He did a great job! We feel so blessed to have had a healthy pregnancy, a safe delivery, and a very healthy baby! Welcome little Adalynn!
